Ever seen a mason at work. He works with one brick at a time. He applies cement to solidify its hold. He then moves on to the next brick and solidifies that one. And then to the next and then to the next. And eventually he has a strong wall. That is the only way any strong structure is built, one brick at a time.
Change can be beautiful and unnerving. Change can be challenging and exciting. Change can be uncomfortable and necessary. Many times we know exactly what we want and how we want to change and we still hold back. We spend time and effort in figuring out the reasons why we are not making the change, rather than using the time and effort to take steps to make the change. In search for these reasons, we travel to the past and future with ease and speed. We view both selectively. From the past, we discourage ourselves by focusing on how we did not change earlier. From the future, we intimidate ourselves by all that we don't know about theĀ challenges the change will bring. We get drawn into the whirlpool of thoughts of the past and future - a past we cannot undo, a future we cannot predict. And in all that storm we lose the hold on the ability and inclination to change.
Let's focus on theĀ present and the action that needs to be taken. When we act, our focus is on getting the action done and there is no time and mind space for the whirlpool of the thoughts to take over.
There are many actions that are needed for change. There will be a pile of bricks. Pick the one nearest to you and start.
One step at a time, move on With Inspiration.
